Tobin’s Detailed Bio
Tobin Blake is the author of Everyday Meditation: 100 Daily Meditations for Health, Stress Relief, and Everyday Joy, which garnered a 25 Books Every Man Must Read nomination by Conversations Magazine; and The Power of Stillness: Learn Meditation in 30 Days, a One Spirit Book Club selection for readers. Tobin has studied various spiritual traditions and has been meditating for many years. He received his formal training in meditation through Self-Realization Fellowship, an international organization founded by Paramahansa Yogananda and now supporting more than 500 temples and meditation centers in over fifty countries.
Since the publication of his first book, Tobin has appeared on numerous radio and television shows, and has held workshops on meditation, mind-body healing, and spiritual awakening. He is a member of Willamette Writers, and the Pacific Northwest Writers Association.
His short stories, non-fiction, and poetry have appeared in a number of publications, including Surfer Magazine, and Dead on Demand: The Best of Ghost Story Weekend, a collection which spent six months on Library Journal’s Best Seller List. He has also written for The Holy Encounter, a magazine dedicated to the teachings of A Course in Miracles, a spiritual mind-training system that has impacted the lives of many thousands worldwide. Tobin is also a long-time disciple of the Course.
Most recently, he completed work on his first novel, Time Surfers, an epic young-adult fantasy that takes place on a near-future, post-apocalyptic Earth. It combines elements of many fantasy greats such as The Lord of the Rings and Star Wars, with a swirl of Harry Potter. Watch for the book’s release in 2016.

Born and raised in Los Angeles, Tobin now resides in Bend, Oregon, a high-desert hideaway on the eastern flank of the Cascade Mountains of Central Oregon—a varied land of rivers, temperate rain forests and frosted mountain peaks. He has two daughters and a gorgeous wife (who sometimes helps edit his work and inserts her own two cents). When Tobin isn’t writing or teaching meditation, he enjoys hiking, camping, reading fantasy and sci fi novels, and sampling Oregon’s delightful pinot noirs.
